THE June storm left a $2.7 million repair bill to fix 22 eroded shores and creeks in Lake Macquarie.
Lake Macquarie City Council has applied to the NSW Government to pay the bill under its natural disaster relief fund.Council asset manager David Pavey said the council argued in its submission to the Government that the erosion was not incremental, but a one-off event during the storm that took out embankments.Cr John Jenkins said he was concerned that almost a year had lapsed since the storm and the erosion of a section of shore at Swansea Gardens caravan park had not been fixed.
