1974 - March 12: Flash floods overflow creeks and drains around the South Coast, damaging more than 100 Wollongong homes.
1974 - April 15: Illawarra hit by storms with winds of 60km/h. The rough weather delayed delivery of more than 10,000 postal items.1974 - May 27: Many trees uprooted by 100km/h winds around Nowra. Then Shoalhaven Mayor Max Atkins was almost killed by a tree branch blown through the window of his mayoral limousine.1975 - March 11: Floods cause an estimated $1 million damage to property around the Keiraville area.1978 - March 18-19: Torrential rain. Spectators wade through knee-deep water to evacuate the Great Moscow Circus tent at JJ Kelly Park.1981 - August 21: Wollongong and surrounds hit by a windstorm with 160km/h winds.
